The City of Trees

Trevor and I are both very excited that our wedding is going to be held in Boise, Idaho. Not only do our families both reside in the area, but Boise is a wonderful town with so much to offer!

For our out-of-town friends and family we hope the venues we are holding our ceremony and reception at give you a glimpse of what a great city Boise is and why it is so special to both me and Trevor. And for those of you that are locals, we hope you are reminded of what it is you love about the city too!

Our ceremony is going to be held at Kathryn Albertson Park. This park was donated to the people of Idaho on October 17, 1989, by Joe and Kathryn Albertson. The park is 41 acres in size and was designed to be an attractive home for resident and migratory wildlife in downtown Boise. It features wide, paved footpaths which wind through the park carrying walkers past colorful, abundant trees and wildlife. Highlights include a fountain, a cross-section of the world's largest Ponderosa Pine, access to the Greenbelt, and two gazebos of stout beam and stone which offer attractive views and seating along the paths to view waterfowl and songbirds.

We both loved the park for its beautiful, natural setting and the peaceful, serene atmosphere it provides.

Our reception will be held at the historic Boise Depot. This beautiful Spanish-style structure was originally built by Union Pacific Railroad in 1925, and was recently restored to much of its original state by the Morrison-Knudsen Company in 1993. The Depot offers a splendid panoramic view of the Boise Valley and building grounds include Platt Gardens, a lovely park with pathways, a gazebo and a koi pond. The reception will take place in The Great Hall, a soaring 3,542-square-foot multi-story atrium that once served as the building's waiting room.

The Depot is truly a Boise gem that we are thrilled to share with you. We look forward to dancing the night away in the Great Hall with each and everyone of you!
