We have been busy planning away a special and exciting night for us to share with all of you, our friends and family. We are thrilled that so many of you are going to be able to make it and join in the festivities. Our first home
The excitement is brimming over - we are going to be homeowners! We weren’t planning on finding our home so quickly, but what can we say, it was just meant to be. The right location, community, floorplan and price…it all fell into place so perfectly we just couldn’t say no. So from here forward you can find us in Ventana loving life in our brand new CBH home!
We hope to have all of you out-of-towners over for a Welcoming Party on Thursday night before the wedding if you are in town. The rest of you locals are welcome anytime!

We're back!

It's finally official! Trevor and I are Idahoans once again! How exciting it is to be back near our family and friends we have been away from for so long. We will miss the Vegas energy and the So Cal sun, and most definitley those great friends we collected along the way, but the fresh air and good people of Boise are reminding us why we chose to move back home every day.
We can't wait to have you all in town for the wedding and now, you can come visit any time you like--we have a place with your name on it!

Need a place to crash?
Since our wedding is held over Labor Day weekend, I am encouraging everyone to book their hotel room as early as possible. My hopes are that you can lock in your rooms before rates hike up as they tend to before the holidays.
So with that in mind, I have gathered information for three Downtown Boise hotels I would recommend.

The Grove Hotel: 245 S. Capitol Blvd.
The Grove Hotel is located in downtown and is Boise's only luxury full service hotel. The European elegance of the entry warms guests while the adjoining lobby bar encourages lingering in overstuffed sofas and chairs around the fireplace. Emilio's serves up award-winning regional cuisine, an extensive wine list, and unparalleled service in an elegant setting.

The Hampton Inn & Suites: 495 S. Capitol Blvd.
Situated in the heart of downtown Boise, The Hampton Inn & Suites is near the
Boise Convention Centre, Qwest Arena, and Boise’s finest retail, entertainment and restaurant district - you can have it all! Right out the front doors you can enjoy PF Chang’s or local hot spot sidewalk cafĂ© dining. Then, catch a movie at the multi-screen movie theater or enjoy a great laugh at the Funny Bone Comedy Club. Wonderful extras included are Complimentary On the House™ hot breakfast, complimentary wireless high-speed internet access in all guest rooms and lobby, complimentary airport shuttle, attached parking facility, complimentary 24-hour indoor exercise facility, complimentary 24-hour business center, Indoor Cool Pool™ and whirlpool, Boise’s only pool designed for interactive adult and children entertainment, game room and on-site convenience store.

Mariott Towne Place Suites: 1455 S. Capitol Blvd.
Nestled in the heart of Boise, TownePlace Suites by Marriott® is an all suite hotel located three blocks from The Boise Depot. Only minutes away from downtown, specialty shopping, intriguing museums and the historic State Capitol Building. Relax and feel at home with a fully equipped kitchen and complimentary services: high speed internet access, continental breakfast, local calls, indoor pool, business center and airport shuttle. Boise offers outstanding outdoors activities from the serenity of Ann Morrison Park and the greenbelt, to fishing and floating the Boise River, to kayaking the Payette to snowboarding at Bogus Basin.
For what it’s worth, I feel that The Hampton Inn & Suites offers the best value for the best price. Their prime location in the heart of downtown puts you right at the doorsteps of great shopping, entertainment and restaurants. A close second is The Marriott Towne Place Suites, this hotel also offers extraordinary value and complimentary services. It’s plus is that it is right down the hill from The Boise Depot where the reception will be held. Last but not least is The Grove Hotel which I also feel has a lot to offer or I wouldn’t include it in my recommendations. However, it sits on the more expensive side and does not offer any complimentary services. On the other hand, they do boast a fantastic on-site restaurant and a swanky hotel bar that is sure to please most. So it all boils down to what you are looking for - Boise has a little something for everyone.

Our Something Blue
When wedding traditions are spoken of there is an olden rhyme that comes to every bride’s mind.
"Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.”
Popular since Victorian times, each item in the poem is to represent a good-luck token for the bride. It is believed that if she represents all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be delightful.
Each article itself carries independent well wishes for the bride.
Something old: Is to symbolize continuity with the bride's family and the past
Something new: Is to represent optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead
Something borrowed: Traditionally borrowed from a happily married woman,
this article is to impart similar happiness to the bride
Something blue: Is to exemplify fidelity and constancy
So in our effort to embrace tradition, we have found our something blue.

Isn’t this car a beauty!?! She will be our something blue as well as our classic getaway car. We can’t think of a better way to usher out our day than with a nice spin on tradition.

We Do
Searching for the right person to marry us proved to be a bit more challenging than we originally anticipated. However, we are truly blessed and have found the best fit we could have ever hoped for in the end.
Introducing...Chaplain Morris. What a wonderful man! We are thrilled to have him guide us through our special day. Within the first five minutes of meeting him, my heart was at such ease and my mind comforted with his thoughts on marriage. I was beyond joyful when we left our first meeting, knowing that we had found “the” person to marry the two of us.
He recommended two relationship books for us to read during our engagement. Both are excellent and have proven to be tremendously useful and meaningful.
His Needs, Her Needs by Willard Harley, Jr.
The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman
We highly recommend reading them if you get the chance---we hope you find them as beneficial as we did!

Pucker up
Who doesn’t love an ice cold glass of lemonade, especially on a warm August afternoon? We can’t think of anyone either!
Picture this.
You...celebrating, dancing, socializing and having a get-out-all-around fun time working up a mighty thirst. You need a tasty, non-alcoholic (we’ll save the alcohol for another post) cold beverage stat. Which lemonade would you reach for to quench your thirst?

Pretty posies
Yellow, yellow and more yellow! From the bouquets to the centerpieces, these sun-filled blossoms will radiate warmth and cheer.

Traditionally, yellow roses are a symbol of friendship, happiness and new beginnings. We chose them for our wedding based on their classic beauty and bright, joyful bud.
Can’t you just smell the sunshine now?

It's all in the details
Is it ever! Over the past couple of months we have had such a fun time working on the many layers and aspects of our wedding day. I can't tell you how great it is to see our day coming to life, little by little, detail by detail. For your viewing pleasure and our excitement I have put together a little teaser of our "fresh elegance" inspiration (along with some Depot inspired train tracks). Enjoy!
